BBC Sport: Arsenal closing in on HUGE summer deal for Sporting superstar Viktor Gyökeres – Andrea Berta in Portugal for decisive talks

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a summer deal to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres.
 

The 27-year-old's future has been one of the biggest talking points so far this summer, but it now looks like the uncertainty could soon come to an end.

It has been widely reported over the past 24 hours that Arsenal are getting closer to securing the Sweden international's signature, with negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting believed to be in the final stages.

BBC journalist Sami Mokbel now reports that Arsenal are close to signing Viktor Gyökeres.

Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta is understood to have held face-to-face talks in Portugal with Sporting in an attempt to finalise a deal.

Berta is said to have flown to Portugal at the end of last week to hold crucial discussions over a potential deal for Viktor Gyökeres.

Personal terms between Gyökeres and Arsenal are thought to be already agreed, with the Swede set to sign a five-year contract should the deal go through.
