While adding firepower up front is a top priority, the club are also understood to be keen on bringing in defensive reinforcements.

Arsenal journalist Jordan Davies of The Sun reports that Barcelona full-back Jules Kounde is of interest to the Gunners.

The 26-year-old has established himself as a key player under new Barca manager Hansi Flick this season and is also a regular starter for the France national team.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are considering making a £55m bid to secure the defender's signature.

Several other Premier League clubs are also interested, with TBR Football suggesting that Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City are all keeping close tabs on Kounde's situation.

The French international has two years left on his current contract, and the Catalan giants are reportedly not keen on a potential sale this summer.
