Arsenal have held talks with the 27-year-old's representatives regarding a possible deal, with the player understood to be open to joining Mikel Arteta's side.

Now, an interesting update has emerged on the Gunners' attacking plans.

The reliable David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that Arsenal have placed Eze high on their shortlist of attacking targets.

However, there has been no direct contact between Arsenal and Crystal Palace over a potential summer deal — at least not yet.

Arsenal are understood to be open to signing three new attackers this window, and a move for Eze would not rule out further additions in both the striker and winger positions.

Ornstein also adds that Tottenham, who have been strongly linked with the Palace star, are currently not pursuing a deal — potentially a major boost to Arsenal's chances of landing the playmaker this summer.
