BREAKING: Arsenal’s first summer signing done — star midfielder agrees long-term deal

Martin Zubimendi is on course to become Arsenal's first signing of the summer transfer window.
There has been plenty of speculation regarding the Real Sociedad midfielder's future in recent months.
While a move to Arsenal has widely been reported as a done deal in principle, Real Madrid have previously been mentioned as potential competitors for the 26-year-old's signature.
The expected arrival of Xabi Alonso as Carlo Ancelotti's successor at Los Blancos this summer was seen as a key factor in a possible move for Zubimendi.
However, it now appears that the Spain international has chosen to join the Gunners ahead of next season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Zubimendi.
The midfielder is said to have reached a verbal agreement with the club and is expected to sign a long-term contract in north London.
Mikel Arteta's side are set to trigger Zubimendi's release clause, which is understood to be around £51m.
