Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap ahead of the summer transfer window.

In April, FootballTransfers claimed that the Gunners had added the 22-year-old to their shortlist of potential signings.

With the Tractor Boys now confirmed to be relegated just a year after their return to the Premier League, speculation around Delap's future has intensified.

Despite Ipswich's struggles, Delap has impressed in the top flight, netting 12 league goals this season.

Now, FootballTransfers has provided an update on the striker's situation.

The outlet reports that Arsenal have made an offer to Delap's representatives, outlining the club's project and how he would fit into Mikel Arteta's plans.

While the Gunners are said to be willing to meet the striker's demands, they have also made it clear that he would likely arrive as a backup option — with Sporting CP's Viktor Gyökeres remaining their primary target to bolster the attack.
