Arsenal have reportedly met with Viktor Gyökeres' agent in a bid to complete a deal for the Sporting CP star this summer.

The 26-year-old striker's future is one of the biggest talking points ahead of the summer transfer window, with multiple elite European clubs linked with his signature.

Arsenal are said to be the frontrunners to sign the Sweden international, and with the 2024/25 season now officially over, concrete developments are expected to follow soon.

Fresh reports from Portugal have now shed more light on the striker's situation.

According to Correio da Manhã, Arsenal have recently held talks with Gyökeres' agent, Hasan Cetinkaya.

The recent UEFA Women's Champions League final between Arsenal Women and FC Barcelona — which the Gunners won 1-0 — took place in Lisbon. During the visit, Arsenal officials reportedly met with Gyökeres' agent to advance a potential summer deal.

During the meeting, the Gunners are said to have presented a bid worth around €70 million, along with a contract proposal for the player.

The offer reportedly includes a five-year deal with an annual salary of around €7 million, plus a €12 million signing bonus.

Other top clubs remain in the race, with Correio da Manhã also claiming Bayern Munich have made an approach for the striker.

However, as things stand, Arsenal are understood to be in pole position to secure Gyökeres' services this summer.
