BREAKING: Elite 54-goal striker expects to join Arsenal this summer — has informed those close to him

Sporting striker Viktor Gyökeres has reportedly told those close to him that he expects to join Arsenal this summer.
 

The 27-year-old goal machine is widely expected to leave the Portuguese giants, with several top clubs closely monitoring his situation — including Arsenal.

However, no deal is believed to be close or agreed with any club yet, amid ongoing speculation over where the Sweden international will end up ahead of next season.

According to talkSPORT's Alex Crook, Gyökeres is anticipating a summer move to Arsenal.

The Swede is understood to have informed family and friends of his expectations.

Manchester United are also interested in signing Gyökeres, with the player already enjoying a good relationship with manager Ruben Amorim from their time together at Sporting.

Arsenal, however, are seen to have a clear advantage in the race for his signature, as they can offer Champions League football next season.
