Arsenal's top goalkeeper target Joan Garcia has officially signed for FC Barcelona.
 

The 24-year-old Espanyol stopper had been strongly linked with a summer move to the Emirates, with Mikel Arteta reportedly identifying him as the ideal back-up and competition for David Raya.

However, recent reports indicated that Barcelona were closing in on the Spaniard—and now the move has been confirmed.

Barcelona have announced the signing of Garcia, meaning Arteta has missed out on one of his key transfer targets.

Despite the setback, Arsenal appear to have swiftly moved on. Multiple reports claim the Gunners are close to finalising a deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Only minor details and a medical reportedly remain before the transfer is complete.

The 30-year-old Spain international had opportunities to become first-choice elsewhere but is said to have opted for a move to north London.
