Arsenal target Sverre Nypan's future is reportedly set to remain at his current club until the summer.

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Rosenborg's super talent, Sverre Nypan.

Several top clubs across Europe have expressed interest in the 18-year-old, with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Aston Villa heavily linked with a potential move.

Nypan was in England last weekend to visit a couple of clubs ahead of a possible January transfer. In recent days, reports suggested that the player would officially announce his final decision on his next club before Monday night's deadline.

The highly reliable David Ornstein now reports that a decision has been made, and it is a somewhat surprising one.

Sverre Nypan will remain at Rosenborg until the end of the season. Ornstein also claims that no agreement has been reached with any club, meaning a final decision on his future destination is likely to be made in the summer.

Daily Arsenal has reached out to the player's father, Arne, who confirmed that his son is set to stay in Norway. He also stated that there is still strong and concrete interest in the rising star.

"Yes, that's correct! We are in a great position with strong interest from several fantastic clubs. Sverre has always taken a long-term approach, and this is a good solution for him, but also for the clubs involved," Arne told daily-arsenal.com.

With the January transfer window nearing its end, Arsenal has yet to make any signings. However, the feeling remains that the club is working hard behind the scenes to get some business done.
