Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with Crystal Palace over the signing of Eberechi Eze.

The 27-year-old's future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain heading into the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal remain interested in a potential deal for the Englishman, but must offload a number of fringe players before making a formal move.

However, the Gunners are now set to face stiff competition for his signature.

Several reliable sources, including Fabrizio Romano, report that Tottenham have stepped up their pursuit of Eberechi Eze.

It is understood Spurs have opened negotiations with Palace over a potential summer deal.

Although Eze's preference is to join Mikel Arteta's side ahead of next season, he is open to a move to north London rivals Tottenham.

The Palace star's release clause of around £68m remains active, and it now appears the two north London clubs will battle it out for his services.
