FROM BRAZIL: Arsenal midfielder set to sign pre-contract with new club in the coming days — Arteta and board at odds over decision

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho could sign a pre-contract with Flamengo in the coming days, according to a report from Brazil.
The Italy international's contract expires this summer, and several clubs have been linked with a move — most notably Brazilian side Flamengo.
Multiple media outlets in Brazil, including UOL Esporte, have reported Flamengo's interest in the 33-year-old in recent weeks. Now, O Dia has provided a fresh update on the situation.
According to their report, Flamengo are now the clear favourites to sign Jorginho, who could finalize a pre-contract agreement with the club in the next few days. Once the deal is signed, the Brazilian side hope to make an official announcement.
Interestingly, the report also claims that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has pushed for a contract extension for Jorginho, but the board has not approved it.
As a result, the decision has been made for the midfielder to leave the Gunners at the end of the season.
