Chelsea are reportedly set to hold further talks today with the representatives of Xavi Simons over a potential summer move.
 

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a Premier League switch, with both Arsenal and Chelsea showing interest in recent days.

Now, it appears Enzo Maresca's side are stepping up their pursuit of the RB Leipzig attacker.

According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea are expected to hold additional discussions with Simons' camp today as they look to accelerate a deal.

The Blues are reportedly aiming to reach a verbal agreement with the player soon, with Simons understood to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Arsenal remain in the race for the Netherlands international but are yet to formalise their interest.
