Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has reportedly informed the club of his desire to leave this summer.
 

The 25-year-old was previously considered Mikel Arteta's dream striker target heading into the transfer window, but with Arsenal now closing in on Sporting CP's Viktor Gyökeres, any move for Isak appears unlikely.

Although the Sweden international had been expected to remain at St James' Park, a major update has now emerged regarding his future.

According to multiple reliable sources, including David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, Isak has communicated his intention to move on.

Liverpool are said to retain strong interest in the striker despite recently securing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

While there has also been speculation over a potential switch to Saudi Arabia, that option is currently not being considered.
