OFFICIAL: Takehiro Tomiyasu leaves Arsenal Football Club — agreement reached to terminate his contract with immediate effect

Arsenal have officially announced that Takehiro Tomiyasu has left the club.
 

The 26-year-old has endured a difficult spell at Arsenal since joining from Serie A side Bologna in the summer of 2021, with recurring injuries preventing him from playing regularly.

Reports earlier today suggested that the Japan international had departed the club.

Now, it has been confirmed.

Arsenal announce that a mutual agreement has been reached to terminate Tomiyasu's contract with immediate effect.

The defender is currently recovering from knee surgery and is expected to be sidelined for a further five months.

Tomiyasu is now available on the market as a free agent.
