Report: Arsenal still keen on Ajax star defender — Liverpool also monitoring closely

Arsenal are reportedly still keen on signing Ajax defender Jorrel Hato this summer.
 

The 19-year-old has been closely monitored by several European giants, including the Gunners, over the past few seasons.

The Netherlands international has established himself as a regular starter in Amsterdam, and a potential summer move to one of Europe's top leagues could be on the cards.

According to Ryan Taylor of the Daily Mirror, Arsenal remain interested in Ajax star Jorrel Hato ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. Premier League rivals Liverpool are also understood to be keeping a close eye on the defender.

However, the likelihood of Arsenal strengthening their defence may depend on outgoings in that area this summer.

The futures of Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko in North London remain uncertain, and there is a chance both could leave the club in search of more regular playing time elsewhere.

Gunners defender Kieran Tierney is also set to leave the Emirates this summer, with a free transfer back to Celtic believed to have already been agreed.
