SOURCES: Arsenal among clubs exploring move for Roma star - contact made with agent

Arsenal are one of several clubs showing interest in AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, sources have told Daily Arsenal.

Reports from Italy in recent weeks suggest that Lorenzo Pellegrini is expected to leave the club when the January transfer window opens.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to other top Italian clubs, including Inter, Milan, Fiorentina and Napoli. In recent days, Arsenal have also emerged as a potential destination for the attacking midfielder.

Now, Daily Arsenal can reveal that we have indeed expressed an interest in Pellegrini.

Sources close to the situation have informed us that the Gunners are one of multiple clubs keen on the Italian international. The club are believed to be in contact with the player's agent, Giampiero Pocetta.

No talks between Arsenal and AS Roma have taken place yet.

Arsenal are not the only team currently in the race for Pellegrini's signature. One source tells us that the player's agent is also holding discussions with a few other Premier League clubs.
