Arsenal could reportedly renew their interest in signing Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins this summer.

The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in January, but a deal ultimately failed to materialise.

Signing a new striker remains a top priority for the Gunners, with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyökeres emerging as leading targets.

However, with no agreement close for either player at this stage, Mikel Arteta's side are said to be assessing alternative options.

According to the reliable Gary Jacob of The Times, Arsenal could reignite their pursuit of Watkins.

Aston Villa may consider cashing in on the England international after missing out on Champions League football, and Watkins is a boyhood Arsenal fan.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will step up their interest in the experienced forward.
